Duke Kahanamoku Qualifies for the Olympics

Today in history — March 2, 1912 — Duke Kahanamoku won the American Association’s national swimming championship and, therefore, qualified himself for the Olympics in Stockholm. At the Summer Olympics, the Native Hawaiian would win his first two medals: a gold and a silver.
