Presentation at the Introduction to Archives Management Course at UH Manoa
Graduate research assistant Alice Kim introduced the Chronicling America project to future librarians and archivists in the course Introduction to Archives Management. During this presentation on February 8, 2012, Alice, an alumna of the library school, discussed the historical significances of the newspapers and how researchers can use them.
The Library and Information Science Program at the University of Hawaii at Manoa offers this elective course. Archivists Dainan Skeem (an archivist at Hamilton Library), Dawn Sueoka, and Maja Clark co-teach this course.
For outreach, the Hawaii Digital Newspaper Project delivers presentations to students, librarians, and community members. Future presentations will include a one-hour brown bag presentation at Hamilton Library and the Graduate Student Organization Interdisciplinary Conference.
